Community Outreach
High School Visits
An outstanding educational opportunity exists for your students to broaden their knowledge of finance and investments. In an effort to further involve ourselves in the education of aspiring college students, we have developed a program known as “Investing in our Community’s Future.” The primary goals of the program are:
- To spark interest and excitement about the world of finance among high school students.
- To empower students with basic financial knowledge that we feel is crucial in today’s competitive academic environment.
- To inform students of potential career paths in the various business fields.
To achieve these goals, our team prepares custom made presentations based upon the specific interests of the group. If the group wishes, they can also participate in an interactive workshop, which includes a portfolio management competition. This allows the students to gain a deeper understanding of finance and investing practices.
Do you want to get involved in this unique program? You can!

Community Service
As a leading campus organization at the University of Dayton, The Davis Center for Portfolio Management strives to make a difference in the local and campus community. Faculty and students at UD are encouraged and expected to learn through service work. Staff members participate in service events such as Christmas on Campus, St. Jude’s Letter Writing Campaign, Habitat for Humanity, Blood Drives, Relay for Life and many other unique projects within the Dayton community.
Comments about the UD dedication to service…
“UD was selected by the Templeton Foundation as having one of the nation's best service-learning programs that encourages students to contribute and learn through volunteer activity.”
“Each December 8 since 1963, UD has celebrated "Christmas on Campus." Christmas on Campus has become one of the nation's largest single-day, on-campus community service events as UD students "adopt" area children and treat them to seasonal shows, displays and food.”
“The University of Dayton was chosen by the Templeton Foundation as one of 100 colleges and universities in the United States that encourages character development and prepares students for lives of personal and civic responsibility.”
